Bio

Wibes met on a bus in summer 2022, heading to a rave in downtown Oslo. Hansine, acclaimed Norwegian filmmaker (1 ,2) and Avery, an American PhD student studying bioacoustics in Norway (1, 2) became fast friends and started trading demos. After collaborating they decided to join forces as Wibes, a cheeky name based on Norwegian mispronunciation of “Vibes”. Together they excel at following creative impulses wherever they lead, resulting in novel and whimsical songs. It started with “Mystic Whale Love”, recorded in a cabin in the Santa Cruz mountains as part of a nature soundscape art initiative. Their newest single «Uendelig Flow» means «Infinite Flow» in Norwegian. It was made in a hytte in the forest of Norway last summer and captures the band’s effortless style. The duo plans to release their first album late 2024, bringing Wibes to the masses.
